I am looking for the text of an Italian poem for children. The poem
begins "Cavallino rosso...."I'm sorry I did not find the poem you're seeking. Since you didn't
provide any lines from the poem in your question, I had nothing to go
on but the words "cavallino rosso."

~pinkfreudUnfortunately, that is not the poem I was looking for. My father
would recite the poem to us as children and then later to his
grandchildren. The poem went something like this (phonetically):
"Cavallino rosso
camino vadi corso
choo, choo, choo-choo-choo.
Cavallino bianco
che questa crista stanco
a goccio faggio li
trica, tracca, trombolli"
This is from vague (but sometimes vivid) memory.
Thanks for your help.I believe this is your poem:
IL CAVALLINO ROSSO
Un cavallino nero rampante
Non solo veloce ma anche rampante.
Fatto da gente umile e vera
Che tifa sempre fino a sera.
Ad ogni curva o rettilineo
Lui sempre primo
Nei nostri cuori gialli dentro
E rossi fuori.

The same text for the poem appears here:

Since "Cavallino Rosso" is the name of a popular brandy and a
restaurant, most Google searches (even when restricted to Italian
pages only) lead to references related to the brandy and the
restaurant.
Google Web Search: "cavallino rosso" (Italian language pages only)

I hope this is the poem you're looking for. If it is not, please
request clarification; I'll be glad to offer further assistance before
you rate my answer.
