PDA and web interface

January 6th, 2009 by jane
  • i've been playing with the web interface, and think it could be one incredible device if the web page was pda (pocketpc) compatible...(loose the framesets)

i have it connected wirelessley...to the xbox, via a hub...so that i can tinker with the play list etc...

get that bit sorted and you will kill some of those really expensive hd multimedia systems !!!

keep the good work up boys !!

  • my patch (http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=914911&group_id=87054&atid=581840) provides an api to xbmc that allows for example a pda application (included with the patch code) access to xbmc functions. the included pda application is i believe what the original poster was looking for in that it is similar to the dedicated media centre wifi controller.

unfortunately because it still hasn't been included in the cvs (getting on for a year) you will need to apply the patch and compile the code yourself.

  • there is this one (http://www.allxboxskins.com/skins/index.php?app=xbmc&cat=0&ps=&pageno=4&id=4571)
    and this one (http://www.allxboxskins.com/skins/index.php?app=xbmc&cat=0&ps=&pageno=5&id=3682)
and there is a app running around somewhere as well but i cant find it atm.

  • hi, is there any alternative web interface layout suiting a pocketpc?

i would like to use my pda as an remotecontroller for xbmc.

    anyone any suggestions?

    keep up the good work!

  • little question?

does this work on xbmc 1.1 too?

    thnx

    p

  • thnx for fast info,
but my question was about the pocket enabled skins for the webserver in senergy's reply
i used them with xbmc 1.0 but want to know if they still work with xbmc 1.1

your patch looks even better, but i never compiled xbmc my self.
looks much too complicated for me

so can someone tell me if the skins still work?

    tia
    p

  • why don't you try them and let us know?

  • patpot: actually it was a really slow response because i was replying to the original poster of this thread, pipster - almost 2 months.
