subtitles displaced

January 7th, 2009 by mike
  • if i play a dvd in mplayer and switch on the subtitles, they appear cutted on the bottom of my screen (pal 16:9) and do not appear at the position i set up in the video settings menu. divx with srt work fine tho.

this is realy bad because i own a couple of asian hk/korean dvds that do not work in the new dvd-player (usually they just hang in the menu and you cannot navigate). they play in mplayer but with cutted subtitles...

    i am using the tech-cvs from 18/01/2006.

  • i have a similar problem.

on 4x3 screen the dvd subtitles display too high, in the middle of widescreen movies instead of the black bars like the xvid subtitles. is there any solution?
